Overview
My Energy Target is a Georgia Power pilot, aimed at helping residential customers reduce energy costs. The pilot evaluates energy savings during a summer challenge campaign, which runs from June 1 through September 30, 2026. Throughout the campaign, a series of emails will be sent to participants to inform them of their progress, share energy-saving tips, and opportunities to help reach energy goals.
A select group of Georgia Power customers were randomly chosen to participate in the My Energy Target Pilot. * Georgia Power is excited to offer more ways to help reduce energy use and lower energy bills.
During the summer challenge campaign, participants who engage with interactive emails and achieve their energy reduction targets will be eligible to receive an incentive payout from Georgia Power up to $130.
Georgia Power will be there to guide you each step of the way. If you are selected to participate, you will receive:
- Energy reduction targets unique to your home and energy usage.
- Interactive goal setting activities that work with you.
- Progress trackers to show your energy consumption throughout the challenge.
- Energy saving tips to help you save energy and money this summer and reach your energy reduction targets.

Making simple adjustments around your home can make a big difference each month.
Manage temperature and comfort
- Monitor your thermostat settings and how much energy is used in the summer.
- Set your thermostat schedules based on being home, away, and sleeping.
Make simple changes to improve equipment performance
- Change HVAC air filters every 3 months, or as recommended for your specific HVAC system.
- Ensure dishwasher and laundry loads are full before turning them on.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I enroll in the My Energy Target Pilot?
The Georgia Power My Energy Target pilot automatically enrolls select participants. A customer cannot opt-into the program, but they can opt out if they so choose calling 866-314-9611 or emailing georgiapowermyenergytarget@icf.com.
How are your ‘personalized’ energy reduction targets determined?
Targets are based on your individual household’s weather normalized energy usage during the summer of 2025. Each participant is assigned a 4% and 8% reduction target unique to their household, and periodic check-in emails throughout the summer will let you know how your current weather normalized usage compares to your targets.
If I achieved my energy reduction target and completed the survey, when should I expect to receive my incentive check?
An incentive check will arrive in your mailbox 6-8 weeks after you are notified of reaching a target and completing your survey.
